Description
No. 3 Trinity Road is a house in a row, built in the late 18th century. It features painted brick and a slate roof. This modest building is set slightly forward from the adjoining No. 2A and has a double mansard roof with an internal valley gutter. The rear range appears to be contemporary with the front. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two windows. Above a 12-pane sash window, there are small horizontal sash flat-roofed dormers. The front also includes a two-storey tripartite bow window with 8:12:8 panes, which has a flat roof and a moulded cornice; it is suggested that the lower part of the bow was added later, as it is slightly smaller in diameter and has its own cornice mould. Below the single sash window is a plank door with a plain transom light, likely leading to a through-way, and to its right is a 6-panel fielded door with a plain fanlight above an elliptical arch, flanked by reeded pilasters and an arch with a key, all resting on a single stone step. The building has a slight plinth and a moulded stone cornice at the level of the top of the bow, along with deep blocking and a coped parapet. There are two gable stacks. The rear of the house features two 18th-century raking dormers, a large central 16-pane sash window (with the bottom sash plain), and a 12-pane sash window. Additionally, there is an external escape stair and door, along with a brick stack. The interior has not been inspected.
