Description

8 Quay Street is a large, three-storey terraced house built with roughcast and topped with a slate roof that features overhanging eaves. It has red brick end stacks. The front of the house is two bays wide and includes large 4-pane sash windows on the upper floors. On the first floor to the left, there is a late 19th-century canted oriel window, which has a small modillion cornice and 2-4-2-pane glazing. The ground floor features a full-width late 19th-century shop front, which includes shop windows on either side, with the left window having a recessed shop door. These windows are flanked by pilasters, and there are paired doors in the center. Above, there is a fascia and moulded cornice, although the center and right parts are covered by a sloping board added in 2005, and the pilasters of the center doors are also covered. The interior has not been inspected.
