Description

Digby Estate No 169, with premises occupied by P J Stainer to the right, is a building likely originating from the 17th century. It is two storeys high and has a three-window stone rubble front, located at the corner of Acreman Street. The windows are wood casements, and the roof is covered with modern plain tiles. On the ground floor to the right, there is a small double-fronted shop featuring a four-panelled door and a rectangular fanlight. To the left, there is a ledged door in a frame with a segmental head, and further left is a two-light segmental-headed casement with small panes.

The south side of the building along Lower Acreman Street is also two storeys tall with two windows, featuring a plain tile roof and a stone rubble front that is slightly recessed from the Trendle Street front. The segmental-headed sash windows do not have glazing bars, and there is a ledged door in a frame.

Digby Estate No 169, along with the premises occupied by P J Stainer, Trendle Cottage including its front garden wall, the outhouse range adjoining Trendle Cottage on the east side including premises occupied by E Brake, premises occupied by R W Hyde, and Digby Estate No 168, form a group with the premises occupied by A and W Prout and Nos 4 and 6, Westbury.
