Description
The Digby Estate consists of cottages located on Lower Acreman Street, dating from the 18th to 19th centuries. These two-storey buildings are constructed of stone rubble and feature tile roofs and casement windows.
No 160, which is marked on the map as Digby Estate Nos 158 and 159, has four 2-light windows on the first floor and three segmental-headed 3-light windows below. No 161, likely corresponding to Digby Estate No 163, has four segmental-headed 2-light windows above, with segmental-headed 3-light windows at either end below, and inner windows of 2-lights. There is a door at the left end with a frame.
No 164 features 2-light windows above and segmental-headed 3-light windows at the ends on the ground floor, along with a half-glazed door with two flush panels and single-light windows. No 165 faces Lower Acreman Street and has two window bays. On the left, there is a segmental-headed 2-light window above and a 3-light window below, along with a ledged door. On the right, there is a segmental-headed 2-light window above and a single-light leaded window below.
The buildings at Digby Estate Nos 160, 161, 164, and 165 form a cohesive group.
