Description
Nos. 8 and 9 are two cottages dating from the 17th to 18th century, constructed of rubble stone with stone-tiled roofs. No. 9, which faces the road, is one and a half stories tall and features a dormer gable. It has a 2-light mullion window above a 3-light window, both with ovolo-moulded hoods. The door to the right is set in a bead-moulded surround and has a hood supported by brackets. There is a wing at the back with a north end stack that has been moved to the ridge, connecting to No. 8. The link between the two cottages is made of red brick and dates from the 19th century. No. 8 is positioned at right angles and has a two-story east front divided into two sections, likely from the 19th century. On the left side, there is a 16-pane sash window above a lean-to and a pair of casement windows, while the right side features a single light and two-light windows on each floor, with a central door. Both cottages have north end stacks. Nos. 6, 8, and 9 together create a picturesque cottage group.
