Description
No. 3 is a small house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a rendered stack at the right end and a Welsh slate roof. The house has a one-unit plan and is two storeys high, featuring a one-window garden front. To the left, there is a 19th-century plank door with a timber lintel above it. A drip mould runs over a three-light stone-mullioned window on the ground floor, which has a cyma-moulded surround. There is a similar two-light window on the first floor and a similar blocked window at the rear. A blocked entry is located on the right-hand return. Inside, there is 19th-century joinery and a fireplace from around 1860 with a cast-iron grate; a 17th-century fireplace is currently obscured. The roof has two bays with butt purlins. This house is a significant surviving example of a small rural dwelling from this period.
