Description
The Old House is a 17th-century house constructed of roughcast rubble stone with stone-tiled roofs. The roofs are half-hipped to the north gable, with end stacks, one on the west wing and another on the north end of the main range. The house has one and a half to two and a half storeys and is arranged in an 'L' shape.
The east front has three dormer gables and a three-window range; the windows have ovolo-moulded frames and hoodmoulds, with a two-light window in the centre and three-light windows elsewhere. The south gable features a two-light window in the attic, a three-light window to the first floor, and a four-light window, with king mullions, to the ground floor. The south-west rear wing has a south-facing door in a moulded surround with a hoodmould, a three-light window to the left, and a similar three-light window in a dormer gable above.
The rear of each range has coped dormer gables. The rear of the main range has a one-window range of three-light recessed ovolo-moulded windows with hoodmoulds, and a door to the right. The rear of the wing has an upper three-light recessed chamfered mullion window with a hoodmould. The ground floor has a former door, now a 20th-century two-light mullion window, and a two-light ovolo-moulded window with a hoodmould to the right. Moulded coping and finials decorate the dormer gables.
