Description
Nos. 1 to 3 on West Street are a row of cottages dating from the early 18th century. They are constructed from rubble stone and have stone tiled roofs, with a stack at the east end of each cottage. The buildings are one-and-a-half storeys high. No. 1 features a two-room plan, while Nos. 2 and 3 each have a one-room plan. There are four dormer gables in total, with two on No. 1 and one on No. 2, all fitted with leaded timber casements. The ground floor of No. 1 has three pairs of leaded casements and a door to the left. No. 2 has a single pair of leaded casements with a fixed light and a door to the left. No. 3 has an early 19th-century flush stone-mullion two-light window in its dormer gable, and the ground floor features leaded lights and a door to the left, which is set within a 20th-century timber porch. Additionally, there is a gabled rear wing to No. 2.
