Description

A pair of probably 18th-century terraced cottages stand on the north side of West Street in Bere Regis. The walls are a mix of brick at the lower level and tile-hanging above, with one end wall roughcast. The roofs are thatched, with brick end and centre stacks. The cottages are one storey in height with attics. Access to the properties is at the rear. The front elevation features three casement windows with horizontal glazing bars on the ground floor, and evidence suggests earlier openings were blocked. The attics have three half-dormers with casements and glazing bars. The rear dormers retain fragments of leaded glass. The cottages are documented in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments as Monument 8.
