Outbuilding With Privy Approximately 2 Metres To North Of Manor Farmhouse

This is an 18th-century outbuilding with a privy, located approximately 2 meters north of Manor Farmhouse. The structure is built of brick, chalk and flint, and cob, with some parts rendered. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has stone slates at the eaves on the rear side. It is a single-storey building divided into two cells.

The south front features a rendered center, with the right side made of cob on a rubble and brick plinth, while the left side is constructed of later brick. There is a board door on the left that leads into the privy, which has a small, 4-pane glazed panel, and another board door on the right. The roof is hipped.

At the rear, there is a straight joint between the two cells, and on the left, a diagonally-boarded door. The left return is made of brick. Inside, there is a cob partition wall between the cells, which has been partly rebuilt in brick. A square, boarded opening with a small sliding shutter can be found in the wall, allowing access from the privy cell. The privy cell contains a three-seater wooden privy, with the left seat designed for a child, being smaller and lower, and each seat has a hinged lid. There is a skirting board along the left end wall. The roof features a log ridge-piece of triangular section and crude rafters, with one collar nailed in place at the right end. This building is considered an unusual survival.
