Description

The Poplars, formerly known as Seymour's Farm, is a likely early 19th-century farmhouse that may include earlier elements. A date stone on the rear wall indicates it was built in 1823. The building features stone walls with brick dressings and a brick dentil cornice at the eaves, topped by a tiled roof and brick stacks with ornamental caps. It stands two storeys tall, with a single-storey lean-to at the rear that has stone walls and a slate catslide roof. The front entrance includes a part-glazed door set in a timber trellised porch with an ogee-shaped bargeboard. On the ground floor, there are two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has three similar windows.
