Description

No. 55 is a former dairy house associated with Manor Farm, now functioning as a house. It likely dates from the 18th century. The building features stone walls with brick dressings, and it is raised in plastered cob. The roof is thatched with a brick stack. The structure is two storeys high. The ground floor includes a ledged door in a porch, one casement window, and one horizontally sliding sash window, both with glazing bars. On the first floor, there are three horizontally sliding sash windows, also with glazing bars. There is a single-storey extension on the south side, which has timbered walls and a corrugated iron roof. The main ground floor room contains a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and a possible curing chamber, which is now blocked.
