Description

Regency Cottage, formerly known as No. 56 (Seaforth Cottage), is an early 19th-century cottage built in the Cottage Orme style. It features plastered walls and a thatched roof at the front, with a slated roof at the rear. The building has a double-pile plan with a central valley gutter and is one storey high with attics. The entrance includes a part-glazed door, flanked by French windows with glazing bars. The attic contains three round-headed dormers with casements that have ornamental glazing. The centre bay of the cottage projects slightly and is topped with a gable. On the east elevation, the ground floor features a bow window with double-hung sashes that also have glazing bars.
