Description

Oakers Wood Cottage is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed of brick and stone, with a thatched roof and a brick chimney stack. The cottage is single storey with an attic, featuring a modern glazed front door and casement windows on the ground floor. A dormer window with casements lights the attic. A south-facing outbuilding is attached and features walls of vertical split timbers, with a continuation of the thatched roof. A large, modern rear extension incorporates plastered walls and a flat roof. The building's features were recorded in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, England, Volume 33.
