Description
Oakers Wood House is an isolated former farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later enlargements in the 19th century. The house features brick walls and a thatched roof, along with brick stacks. It is two storeys high, with the original structure comprising two rooms, a central stair, and a rear kitchen wing that was originally single-storeyed but later raised to two storeys. A large extension was added to the front in the 19th century, which is similar in style to the original building but larger in scale. The house has some double-hung sash windows and some casement windows. Consent has been granted for the demolition of the later front section, but the remaining building may still be eligible for listing. There are also detached outbuildings to the west of the house, made of brick and mostly featuring corrugated iron roofs, which are not listable.
