Description

Number 3 West End Cottages is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, located on the North side of West End in Radipole, Weymouth. The cottage is constructed of rubble with brick dressings and has a slate roof. It is two storeys high and has two windows. The windows are small-pane casements; a two-light window is on the first floor, and a three-light over nine-pane window is at ground floor level. A plank door is centrally positioned to the right, and a small, single-storey extension with a four-pane sash window is situated to the right of the main body of the cottage. The left gable is plain and features a brick stack, while the right gable is rendered. The ground-floor openings have brick segmental heads. The interior retains some original plank doors. A late 20th-century addition has been made to the rear. It represents a substantially complete example of a small dwelling of the period, reflecting the regional vernacular style.
