Description

The Knight Monument is a table-tomb located 10 metres south of the south aisle of the Parish Church in Loders. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of stone, featuring rounded ends and free-standing bulbous corner balusters. The tomb has an oval recess-panel with an inscription in fire lettering that reads: "Sacred to the memory of MARY, wife of GBO: KNIGHT Junr. of this parish. Who departed this life the 30th of January Anno 1777 Aetatis, 32." The south side of the monument is broken in, but this damage is not recent.
