Description
The churchyard wall and gate piers at Loders Parish Church date from the 18th century and earlier. The wall is made of rubble stone and features a flat coping stone, with two gables facing the street. It extends approximately 30 meters from the stable block of Loders Court along the street, then curves into the churchyard, running west for 34 meters, north for 7 meters, west again for 22 meters, and finally south for 5 meters to meet the chancel at its north-east corner. There is a depressed-arch doorhead with chamfered jambs that provides access to Loders Court at the northernmost section of the wall. The attached gate piers at the entrance to the churchyard from the east are square and topped with low stone pyramidal caps. The iron gates, which have spear-head tops, were added in the 19th century.
