Description

14 North Street is a 17th-century cottage located on the east side of North Street in Bere Regis. The walls are a mix of brick and plastered cob, and the roof is thatched, with a hipped section at the south end and a central brick stack. The cottage follows a 3-room lobby entrance plan. It is two storeys high, with a central panelled front door. The ground floor has two horizontally sliding sash windows with glazing bars, and the first floor has two similar windows set under slight dormers. Evidence of large open fireplaces is visible, though these are now partially blocked. The building is listed for its group value and is recorded as RCHM Monument 21.
