Description
No 26, known as The Cedars, is an attached house dating from the early 19th century, with an extension to the east added in the mid-19th century. The house features plastered walls and a brick dentil cornice at the eaves, topped by a tiled roof with plastered end stacks. It stands two storeys tall. The ground floor has a 20th-century door set within a classical-style surround, flanked by two three-light windows with ornamental cast iron glazing and raised surrounds. On the first floor, there are two similar windows and an additional two-light window above the door. The late 19th-century extension has plastered walls and a slate roof, with two casement windows on the first floor. Inside, there is a contemporary cut-string staircase with spandrel brackets and a wreathed handrail.
Additionally, there is an attached boundary wall on the north-west side, which is plastered with tiled capping and extends down Church Lane. This house is an attractive example of Regency-style architecture.
