Description
No. 16 Blind Street is a detached cottage with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was likely enlarged in the 18th century. The main part of the building is positioned at right angles to the road. It features brick walls, with the south gable wall being plastered, and is topped with a thatched roof and a central brick chimney stack. The cottage is one storey high with an attic. The entrance is located in the south gable and consists of a part-glazed, panelled door. There is one casement window on the ground floor and another in the attic. The west elevation has mostly 20th-century windows, but there is a small window under the eaves that retains some lead lights. Inside, the main ground floor room includes a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and some exposed ceiling beams.
