Description

Court Farm Cottages, which includes a stable and granary at the east end, is a pair of cottages that were formerly one house. They are located on the site of a former Manor House and incorporate part of its outbuildings. The cottages date back to the late 17th century and were enlarged in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The original section is built of rubble stone, while the later sections are made of brick and partly plastered. The roofs are tiled, with the south gable featuring moulded brick coping and a stone stack, while the later sections have brick stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys.

The west range, which includes the earliest section, has a 20th-century glazed door. On the ground floor, there is one casement window with glazing bars and one 20th-century metal casement. The first floor has three casement windows with glazing bars. The 19th-century east wing features timber casements in the north wall and metal casements in the south wall. There is a cast iron pump on the rear wall of the west range. The interior has been modernised.

Adjoining the east wing is a detached stable made of brick with a tiled roof. Next to this is an 18th-century granary built on staddle stones, also of brick with a half-hipped tiled roof; this granary appears in a drawing from 1786.
