Description
No. 23 Southwell Street is a house, part of a pair, dated 1736 on the porch. It is constructed of rubble with large block quoins on the right side and features a slate roof with a red tile ridge. The building has two storeys and two windows. The windows have chamfered stone-mullioned surrounds; the first floor contains inset two-light casements, although there were likely originally stone mullions. The ground floor has a three-light casement with stone mullions. There is a gabled porch that has a 20th-century door. The house underwent significant modifications around 1900 and was being used for agricultural storage at the time of the previous survey.
