Description
Ab Antiquo is a detached former farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with significant alterations made in the 20th century. The building features rubble stone walls and a thatch roof, which is half-hipped on the left side and gabled on the right. There are brick stacks located at the ridge, to the left of center and on the right gable. The farmhouse is one storey high and has three windows, which are two-light wooden casements with glazing bars. The windows have wooden cills and segmental stone arch-voussoirs.
On the left side, there is a former bread oven that projects out, which is semi-circular and has a stone slab roof, dating back to the 17th century. The entrance has a plank door with ornamental strap-hinges, added in the 20th century, and there is a thatch porch canopy supported by posts. Inside, at the southwest angle, there is a stone spiral staircase leading to the first floor. The fittings of the bread oven have been removed and may have been rebuilt at the rear of the fireplace.
