Gardener'S Cottage

Gardener's Cottage is a mid-19th century house originally built as a lodge at the entrance to a park. It features brick walls and a tiled roof adorned with crested ridge tiles and carved bargeboards. The cottage is designed in the cottage orné style and has one storey with an attic.

The main elevation includes a projecting gabled wing on the left side, which has a ground floor canted bay window with casements that have horizontal glazing bars and a hipped roof. Above this bay window, on the first floor, there is a segmental-headed casement with horizontal glazing bars and a moulded stone lintel. The gable above features a curved-sided triangular stone panel inscribed with "RGG".

To the right of the wing is a porch with a catslide roof and an ornamental timber gabled hood supported by shaped brackets, leading to a ledged door. Adjacent to the porch, there is a range parallel to the road that has one ground floor casement under a segmental arch, and in the attic, there is a half dormer with a gabled roof and a casement with horizontal glazing bars. The house was extended to the rear in matching construction in the late 19th or early 20th century, contributing to its picturesque appearance.
