Description
Jasper Cottage is a detached cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century, with an extension added to the right in the 18th century. It features rubble stone walls and a stone slate roof, with a brick stack located near the center. The cottage is one storey high with an attic. A gabled porch has a cambered stone lintel above the doorway, which contains a part-glazed door. On the left end, there is a second part-glazed door leading into an integral outbuilding. The ground floor includes one casement window with horizontal glazing bars and one top-hung window, with no dormers on the front. The main room on the ground floor has a large fireplace that has been built up, showing signs of a bread oven, and features a deep chamfered ceiling beam. There is a stone front boundary wall. The cottage is reputed to have origins as a long house and is a property of the National Trust.
