Description

Little Durnford is a detached house, originally four cottages, likely built in the late 18th century, and incorporating elements from multiple construction phases. The house is built of rubble stone with a stone slate roof and brick stacks on the ridge. It is situated at an angle to the lane and comprises two and one-storey sections. Two ledged doors provide access. The ground floor features seven tall casement windows with diagonal glazing, some incorporating stone lintels, along with three smaller square windows of similar design. The left section, two storeys high, has a first-floor window with diagonal glazing and one with lead lights. The central, single-storey section, which has an attic, features three pent-roofed dormers, each with a casement window and diagonal glazing. The right section, two storeys high, has four casement windows with diagonal glazing on its first floor.
