Description

The Stables and Coach House, built in 1870, are located 30 metres north-west of Steepleton Manor in Winterbourne Steepleton. The structure features rock-faced masonry walls with Ham stone dressings and clay tile roofs, which have stone copings and are hipped higher over the entrance to the stables. This building is 1½ storeys tall and has an irregular elevation.

The stables have a variety of openings, including a 2-light window, a plank door with a light above it, another 2-light window, and a wide entrance arch with a segmental head that provides access to the stables on the right and a grooms' room on the left. There are two additional 2-light windows, and all windows have mullions and sashes. Above, there is a gabled dormer window and a loft doorway.

The coach house is connected at right angles to the stables and shares the same clay-tile roof. It features one stone stack with a moulded cornice located to the right of centre. The coach house has three large gabled entrances, each adorned with bargeboards and spike finials, and each entrance is fitted with 2-leaf plank doors. To the immediate right, there is another plank door and a 2-light window.
