Description

The stables and coach houses located northwest of Greenway House date from the early 19th century, with alterations and extensions made around the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble with a stuccoed front and feature a slate roof with gabled ends and a partly hipped design.

The building has a central range of stables, which is one storey high with a loft. The stables have a seven-bay layout, featuring three 12-pane sash windows that alternate with plank stable doors, each with overlights. In front, there is a four-bay loggia supported by square timber posts, topped with a roof that has a central pediment displaying a clock face dated 1858. Above this, there is a timber bellcote with a tent-shaped hipped roof and a weathervane. The building also includes two 20th-century flat roof dormers.

On either side of the stables are gabled coach houses, each with oculi in the gables that have radiating glazing bars. To the right, an additional coach house was built in the mid-19th century, which features a round-headed loft window above the coach house door. At the rear, there are 20th-century dormers that break the eaves.

Inside, the stables are complete with loose boxes, and the tack room includes racks for equipment.
