Description
12 and 14 High Street is a house located at the end of a row, originally two separate homes, dating from the early 19th century. The exterior is rendered and scribed, with No. 12 featuring a slate roof and No. 14 having a concrete tile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has two wide-spaced windows, with an additional window inserted at the ground floor where a former doorway used to be. All windows are 16-pane sashes set in plain flush boxes, featuring a projecting keystone and a small wooden sill. There is a 20th-century glazed door in plain reveals to the right of centre. The left-hand end of the building shows some painted coursed stone, and there is a brick stack on the right gable. The left return gable includes a 16-pane sash window and a doorway, along with a single-storey lean-to. The back of No. 12 has well-preserved 19th-century three-light casements, while the back of No. 14 reveals some exposed rubble. The interior has not been inspected.
