Description

The Albert Inn is an early to mid-19th century public house located on the corner of High Street and Westhill Road in Wyke Regis. The front is constructed of painted Flemish brickwork, while the returns and rear are of rubble with brick dressings. The roof is slated and features a wide, gabled span. The building is three storeys high, with three windows on the front elevation. The upper floor windows have 12 panes, and the lower floor windows have 16 panes. A pair of narrow, panelled doors are set within a flat, elliptical arch and are accessed by two stone steps. A small plinth extends to pavement level on the right-hand side. Brick stacks are present on each gable, and the brick flues are visible externally on the right gable. The rear of the building has 12- and 16-pane sashes, set beneath brick voussoirs contained by haunched brick heads. The interior has not been inspected. The Albert Inn holds an important visual position within the village.
