Description

Harper House is an early 19th century stucco building located on Hound Street, now serving as a boarding house for Sherborne School. The house features a hipped slate roof with wide eaves. The west garden front includes a well-designed trellis veranda, while the west front has a doorway adorned with a fluted architrave and decorative paterae at the angle blocks. The south front is two stories high with two window bays, featuring balconies and French windows on the first floor. Inside, there is a contemporary staircase and a white and blue stone floor in the vestibule. Harper House, along with Nos 16 to 20 (even) and the boundary walls, forms a cohesive group along Hound Street.
