Description
The boundary walls to Harper House along Hound Street date from the 19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble and feature a plain stone capping on the west side of the house. This section includes a doorway made of ashlar, flanked by pilasters and an entablature, with a nine-panelled door. To the east of the house, there is a wall of similar height. At the west end, the wall features a round-headed arch and a flush-panelled door. The wall then descends in height and turns inward, creating a concave wing, which has a panelled pier with moulded and peaked capping at its end. A matching pier and wing are located on the opposite side of the entrance. The wall rises again in height and continues for a short distance to the northeast. The boundary walls, along with Nos 16 to 20 (even) and Harper House, form a cohesive group.
