Description

The range of outhouses located to the south of Wykes Court garden dates from the early 19th century. The western block is constructed of red brick, while the remainder is made of hammer-dressed stone. It features a pitched slate roof with coped gable ends on the central block. The building is two storeys tall, with the central block rising to three storeys. The western block has one range of casement windows with glazing bars, and the first-floor windows are leaded. The central block includes two ranges of industrial windows and one range of planked loading doors with a winch hoist above. The eastern block has all its original windows blocked, including the wood-mullioned ones on the north side, but it has various modern windows at the east end. It also features one range of planked loading doors with a winch hoist. This group of buildings includes the garden wall to Rax, the Grove, the garden wall to the Grove, No 32 and its outhouses, the gatehouse of No 32 and its wall, as well as other nearby properties.
