Description
No 32, including the outhouses to the southeast, is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century, originally used as a rope works. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and consists of two ranges: one has four storeys with five ranges of three-light casements featuring glazing bars, while the other has three storeys with three ranges of two-light segment-headed casements. Each range has doorways in the center with winch hoists above. The range of stables and outhouses to the southeast is made of red brick. Together with the gatehouse, Wykes Court on North Street, and the buildings to the south of Wykes Court garden, this forms an unusual industrial complex, with Wykes Court likely serving as the manager's house.
