Description

ST 30 NW THORNCOMBE 1/126 Westford Park Farmhouse 4.12.51 II Farmhouse. C16. Rubble walls with stone dressings. Upper storey, roughcast. Thatch roof. C20 Brick stack at ridge. Stables incorporated at lower end of cross-passage farmhouse. Two storeys. Four windows: casements with wooden frames and glazing-bars. Wide plank door into cross-passage under tiled pentice roof. Staircase bay on rear elevation at top end. Roof hipped. Interior. Hall: open fireplace with moulded stone jambs bearing a segmental wooden lintel, shallow chamfered and stopped. Wooden spiral staircase from parlour to former solar. Roof: jointed cruck trusses with collars and through purlins, pegged. Source R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 248(42).
