Description
Westford Park Farmhouse is a 16th-century farmhouse located in Thorncombe. It features rubble walls with stone dressings, and the upper storey is roughcast. The roof is thatched, with a 20th-century brick stack at the ridge. The farmhouse has stables incorporated at the lower end of the cross-passage. It is two storeys tall and has four windows, which are casements with wooden frames and glazing bars. There is a wide plank door leading into the cross-passage, sheltered by a tiled pentice roof. A staircase bay is located on the rear elevation at the top end, and the roof is hipped.
Inside, the hall has an open fireplace with moulded stone jambs and a segmental wooden lintel that is shallow chamfered and stopped. A wooden spiral staircase leads from the parlour to the former solar. The roof structure consists of jointed cruck trusses with collars and through purlins, which are pegged.
