Description
Wheatsheaf Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the 18th century. It features rubble walls with stone quoins and a thatched roof, with one brick stack at each end. The building is 1½ storeys high and has a four-window range with dormers. The windows are 20th-century wooden casements with glazing bars, and there are wooden lintels and cills. A plank door leads to a stone porch added in the 1970s, which has a half-hipped thatch roof. The main roof is also half-hipped. Inside, there are two fireplaces with brick jambs and chamfered wooden lintels, as well as one bread oven with a brick interior. The cottage may have jointed cruck construction with collar-beams.
