Description
Anne's Hairdressing Parlour and J Chubb is a building with a 17th century core, located at 1625 Cheap Street on the northeast side. It is two storeys high with a three-window ashlar front and features a segmental headed dormer and a tiled roof. The first floor has sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. On the ground floor, there are two shop windows for Anne's Hairdressing Parlour and J Chubb. The entrance has a late Georgian doorcase with incised line panels on the pilasters and frieze, topped with a hood on moulded brackets. Inside, the building is said to contain some 17th century panelling and a fireplace dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring a moulded surround. Nos 29 to 53 (odd) and No 53A form a group with this building.
