ST 6601 CERNE ABBAS LONG STREET, (south side)

11/102 No . 22 (Middle House)(formerly 26.1.56 listed as No 98) GV II

Attached house. Late C18 refronting, earlier rear wing, much altered; converted to shop premises in C20, and now front re-altered for private dwelling. Brick walls in flemish bond. Slate roof with gable ends, and rebuilt brick stack at right gable. 2 storeys and dormers. 3 windows, sashes with thin glazing-bars, mainly 16 pane, with 12 pane over front door. Gauged and ribbed red brickwork. Ground floor shows brick blockings of former shop windows. Front door at centre, former 2-leaf door, now made one, flush-panelled with 16 glass panels over, C19. C20 pediment carried on scroll brackets, replacing an earlier pediment.
