Description

54 and 55 Church Street are a pair of 19th-century buildings. They are three storeys high, each with one window bay and a door at the outer edge. The buildings have slate gabled roofs and rendered frontages. The windows are sash windows, four panes wide, set within reveals. Smaller windows are present on the second floor; later paired sash windows have been added to the ground floor of number 55. Number 54 features a four-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight above it. Number 55 has a four-panelled door with the upper two panels glazed, accompanied by a rectangular fanlight. An outshut, containing a single sash window without glazing bars, is located to the right of number 55. The buildings contribute to a group value with the Parish Church of St Michael, the churchyard wall, railings and the Infants' School.
