Description
These are two late 19th-century buildings on Church Street. Number 50 has a slate gabled roof and a lower front elevation than the adjacent buildings at numbers 49 and 52. It is two stories high and has a roughcast front with a stuccoed plinth. There are three casement windows on the first floor; two are three-light and one is two-light. Sash windows are incorporated into the ground floor openings. A set of two steps leads to the central doorway, which has a stuccoed architrave surround and a six-panelled door with the top two panels glazed.
Number 51 is two stories and has an attic. It is stuccoed and has one window bay with a door to the right. The attic features a two-light casement window with small panes, and the first floor has a four-pane sash window. The ground floor has a two-light casement window. The doorway has a stuccoed architrave frame and a six-panelled door with the top two panels glazed. The site is not shown on a plan of Lyme Regis and its surroundings from 1841.
Numbers 46 to 57 form a group with the Parish Church of St Michael, the churchyard wall, railings, and the Infants’ School.
