Description

Two attached cottages, dating from approximately the 18th century. Number 1 has dressed stone walls constructed of large blocks. It has a thatched roof with a hip at the left-hand side, and combined brick stacks at the right-hand gable, likely dating from the 19th century. The cottage is two storeys high, with two windows on the front. The ground floor window is a 3-light fixed window with leaded lights, set within stone arch-voussoirs. Upstairs, there is a 2-light casement window, with one iron casement and leaded glass. A front door is located on the left-hand side, consisting of a plank door with strap hinges and a 19th-century wooden lintel above. Number 2 cottage has rubble-stone walls and a Roman-tile roof with a gable end. It is also two storeys high, with two windows. These windows are 3-light wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars, retaining old hinges, and feature wooden lintels and cills. A front door, approximately in the centre, is a plank door with a 19th-century wooden lintel above.
