Description

Raleigh Cottage is an 18th-century detached cottage located in Stoke Abbott. The building is constructed of rubble stone, which has been whitewashed. It has a thatched roof, hipped on the left-hand side and gabled on the right. Two 20th-century brick stacks are present, one at the left-hand eaves and one at the right-hand gable. The cottage has two low storeys and three windows, each with three-light wooden casements containing lead lights. The windows have wooden lintels. A 20th-century plank front door is located just left of centre and has lead lights above. A thatched porch canopy, supported by wooden posts, shelters the front door. An attached front wall is constructed of coursed stone with stone copings, returning to the front wall of the house.
