Description
The barn and pig-sty located 10 metres east of Chapel Marsh Farmhouse dates from the 17th century. It features base walls made of lias stone with chalk block above, topped by a corrugated iron roof. The barn doors have stone jambs. The roof structure consists of raised crucks that are pegged and slip-tenoned from the soffit to the principal. It also includes high collar-beams that are pegged, along with two sets of through-purlins that are scarfed and double-pegged.
