BROAD STREET (north east side) Nos 57-58

GV II Late C18 probably. Three storeys. Coursed blue lias rubble front; parapet. Slate roof. Two bay windows to first and second floors in wood with moulded panels and cornice; sashes with glazing bars. On ground floor, Two sash windows with glazing bars to either side of entrances. Triangular double flight of steps flanked by iron handrail leads up to double entrance with pilastered one storey porch over both entrances. Enriched semi-circular design to rectangular fanlights; six-panelled doors with top four panels cut away and glazed. To left of entrance, steps lead down to cellar door. Rear elevation of three bays; sash windows with glazing bars set in segmental head linings. Within, some contemporary features remain. Once a seminary for young ladies. North East rear outhouse range of stone rubble, partly stuccoed; slate roof.

Nos 45 to 65 (consec) form a group.
