Description

BROAD STREET 1. 1357 (North East Side) Nos 53 & 54 SY 3492 1/55 23.4.52. II GV 2. Late C18 to early C19. 3 storeys and attics. 6 window bays. Slate mansard roof. Box dormers. Brick front. Plain stone stringcourses. Sash windows with glazing bars; false centre 1st floor window to No 54. One entrance each to centre with fluted pilasters and enriched fanlights (early C19). To left of doorway in No 53, a shop window flanked by pilasters and with cornice over which also extends to right hand over doorway. To right hand of doorway in No 54 2 square-headed windows with glazing bars in upper part and, at right hand end, round headed window with radial glazing pattern in upper part. Rear elevation of No 54 has a bow window, sash windows with glazing bars on both 1st and 2nd floors.
