Description
Seaview is a range of three-storey tenements dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is located on Broad Street and comprises three bays, originally designed to accommodate two windows each. The front walls are plastered rubble construction, with slate roofs and brick stacks. A moulded cornice and parapet runs along the top, with decorative bands between the first and second floors and at the sill level of the first floor. The windows are sashes. Number 18 is situated at the rear of Number 19 and features a splayed bay window with intact glazing bars in its south-western elevation.
Number 19 has a plate glass shop front with a fascia and fluted cornice, incorporating a shop door and a further six-panelled door to the right. Number 20 has a projecting plate glass shop front in the centre, with a round-headed doorway to the left containing a six-panelled door and a plain semi-circular fanlight. To the right of the shop front is another round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight featuring arched and radiating tracery. Number 21 has a modern plate glass shop front on the ground floor.
Seaview is part of a group with The Three Cups Hotel and numbers 19 to 23.
