Description
Bridgwater Lodge is a late 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall with a basement. It is constructed of red brick and features a projecting basement, a parapet, and a hipped slate roof. The front facade includes three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars set in reveals, complete with gauged brick arches and stone sills on the first floor. There are two similar windows on the ground floor, along with a central three-panelled door, where the centre panel is a circle with flush ornament within a square. Above the door is a semi-circular fanlight with a concentric and radiating key pattern in the glazing. The door is framed by a moulded architrave with lion mask corner blocks at the top. Access to the door is via a flight of eleven moulded stone steps with a plain wrought iron handrail. The basement has two windows, and there is an extension to the right that matches the original design with one window on each floor, while a modern extension is located to the left.
