Description
Modbury Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dated 1857, marked with a crown, located on the east side wall and associated with the Duke of Bedford estate. The building features rubble stone walls with stone quoins and a low-pitched hipped slate roof that has projecting boxed eaves supported by modillion brackets. There are two brick stacks on the rear ridges. The farmhouse has a cubic plan, is double-fronted, and double-depth, standing two storeys tall. It has three windows, which are sashes with thin glazing bars and four panes in width, with stone voussoirs and cills. The front door is centrally located, flush-panelled, and dates from the mid-19th century, accompanied by a stone porch that features an elliptical archway and a gabled slate roof above.
