Description
Redlands Farmhouse and the adjoining coach-house to the north are a detached farmhouse and coach-house built in the early 19th century. The east elevation features a fine ashlar stone wall set on an ashlar plinth, topped with a slate roof that has stone gable copings. There are two brick stacks on the left and one stone stack on the right. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three sash windows with thin glazing bars and stone cills. The central front doorway is round-headed with a roll-moulded edge on the jambs, and it features a six-panelled door with two flush panels and four recess-ribbed panels, along with a segmental fanlight above that has glazing bars. The entrance is accessed by blue lias stone steps. The side and rear walls of the house are built on a client base. The attached coach-house to the north has rubble stone walls and a slate roof with stone gable copings. It features a plank door on the rear wall and C20 carriage doors on the gable end. Inside the kitchen, there are elliptical-headed panelled cupboards beside the fireplace, window shutters with ribbed panelling, and a fireplace adorned with reeded pilasters and a panelled mantelshelf.
